Arrow Season 5: 8 Things That Must Happen Next
2. Stop Hinting At Oliver And Felicity (For Now)
Whether it happens or whether it doesn't, the Arrow writers need to put Olicity (ugh) on the shelf for a little while. 'What We Leave Behind' hinted strongly that it is still very much a thing ('I do believe in magic'), but then Oliver killed Felicity's boyfriend and Laurel came back (so maybe there's hope for us all).
Oliver and Felicity is probably going to happen, and we all have to come to terms with that. The writers have made it very clear that that's where they want to go, but right now isn't the best time for either of them to be thinking about it.
Oliver and Felicity, though great individual characters, turned seasons 3 and 4 into a soap opera, and so far, season 5 has done a good job at leaving them well alone. The back end of the season needs to continue with that tradition, because bringing Laurel back into the equation is not an excuse to bring back any kind of love triangle, and do so after what happened to Billy would be insulting to every one of the characters involved.
