7. The Sarah Lynn Investigation
The upside of a two part season is that we get some extra episodes. The downside though is that it’s cleaved in half, leaving us waiting.
This is one of the biggest cliffhangers going into the final stretch, where some of BoJack’s biggest mistakes could finally catch up with him. With two investigative reporters looking into Sarah Lynn’s death, BoJack’s culpability in her death could come back to bite him.
The investigators themselves, a ‘30s era, slick talking duo, feel like the kind of characters the show could really build upon in the second half of the final season. Paige Sinclair especially seems like she could be one of the classic BoJack characters the show has become so famous for.
The investigation also threatens to bring up BoJack’s lowest ever ebb: Penny. Given the show’s tendency to riff on popular culture, could BoJack be in the precipice of his #MeToo moment?
It would be an interesting look at the movement. BoJack was very clearly in the wrong and while he’s suffered emotionally, it’s not affected his career and Penny still hasn’t had closure. On the other hand though, he’s taken great steps to fix himself. A big issue for the final episodes.
