20 TV Shows That Were Cancelled In 2025

8. And Just Like That...

Poker Face Cancelled
HBO Max

It's the opinion of many that the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That... never really managed to justify its own existence, beyond the fact of course it was HBO Max's most-watched series debut in 2021.

However, viewership dropped 59% in season two, and the recent third season continued to decline week-on-week.

The show's writing was especially criticised by fans throughout its latter two seasons, with many online noting that they were now only effectively hate-watching the series.

Even so, it really seemed like Sex and the City as a franchise was simply too big to fail, and yet, less than two weeks before season three finished, HBO Max confirmed that it wouldn't be returning for season four.

The announcement was sudden enough that even the central cast hadn't yet been told, and while HBO framed the season three finale as a series finale, its messy, inconclusive nature made it painfully obvious that And Just Like That... had actually been cancelled.

While it's possible that HBO tries to resurrect the franchise again in the future, the well may have finally been poisoned enough that only the most die-hard of fans would return for another go-around.
