20 TV Shows That Were Cancelled In 2025

Poker Face Cancelled
Peacock

Now here's an outcome just about nobody saw coming.

Rian Johnson's brilliant crime comedy series Poker Face finished airing its second season last July, and considering both the rave reviews and solid viewership, there was little reason to doubt that Johnson and star Natasha Lyonne would be returning for a third.

However, last November Peacock announced that they wouldn't be renewing Poker Face for season three, with some sources citing both the show's high budget and its failure to grow its audience across seasons.

An unfortunate result, for sure, but here's where it gets weird.

Johnson then announced that he and Lyonne were planning to shop the show around to other networks, with the idea of having Peter Dinklage take over the role of human lie detector Charlie Cale from Lyonne.

It hasn't been publicly reported why Lyonne would exit one of her most iconic and acclaimed roles, and it's frankly tough to picture another network picking up the show without her as the star.

Still, it's an insane enough pitch that it'd certainly be a sight to see.
