20 TV Shows That Were Cancelled In 2025
19. The Sandman
It took the better part of three years for The Sandman's second season to arrive, admittedly in large part due to Hollywood strike action.
However, it left the show in something of an awkward spot, given that sexual assault allegations were levelled against the comic book's co-creator, Neil Gaiman, throughout 2024.
As a result, it was hardly surprising that Netflix announced in early 2025 that The Sandman would be ending with its second season.
Though the allegations resulted in numerous Gaiman-produced projects being either paused or scrapped, it was later reported that Netflix had already intended to end the expensive series after just two seasons before the accusations came to light.
Ultimately season two's viewership declined significantly from the first - likely due to not only the Gaiman allegations but also the generally more lukewarm response to the second season as a whole and the three-year wait between seasons.
