Community: Ranking Every Season Finale Worst To Best
3. Introduction To Finality (Season Three)
Now, this was a much better example of how to bring back the darkest timeline without overdoing it. The episode juggled so many elements that you'd think it would get overwhelming, but that was far from the case as each plot was given the right amount of attention and development.
This episode shows multiple narratives for each character. You watch as Troy - dubbed "The Truest Repairman" - gets involved in a plot involving the AC Repair School Dean's Murder. Plus, there's a legal dispute between Pierce and Shirley that could cost Jeff his career post-Greendale. Finally, consumed with the loss of Troy, Abed becomes entwined with his evil "darkest timeline" counterpart.
Typically in Community, the episode will focus the spotlight on one or two of the characters, giving them the chance to develop before looking at others in the next outings. In contrast, this one gives each study group member a significant amount of development, making it an excellent way to close out a great season.
You've got strong humour, some interesting moral conflict, a great guest role in Rob Corddry, and a stunning ending montage that ties up lots of loose ends.
