Doctor Who: 10 Exciting Things We Know About Series 8
3. ...And The Writers Will Be
Steven Moffat. That's about all we've got confirmed at the moment. But making educated guesses, we can perhaps work out who else will make up the writing team. The big name would of course be Mark Gatiss, Moffat's good friend and Sherlock co-creator, who's written every year of the Eleventh Doctor's tenure. He's even hinted about writing for a new Doctor. And then there's Chris Chibnall, providing he can find work either side of writing new Broadchurch episodes, which is also heading stateside. Plus Steve Thompson, who wrote the dialogue for the Brian Cox science special of Who, is writing for Sherlock Series 3 and can probably be expected to return to Who. It's just speculation further from that. What about Stephen Fry eventually finishing his Series 2 script? Tom McCrae and Paul Cornell are due returns surely? RTD two-parter? Come on Moff, don't just phone in the same names again.
