As Moffat geared up for The Day of the Doctor with the Series 7 finale The Name of the Doctor, he created a cliff-hanger which is arguably the biggest Time War teaser ever to appear in a full episode. 'What I did, I did without choice, in the name of peace and sanity' explains John Hurt's Doctor (now known as The War Doctor). Smith's Doctor, now stranded with Clara in his own timeline, responds 'but not in the name of The Doctor'. Here we see that the Doctor still hasn't come to terms with what he did in the war. Despite travelling for hundreds of years in his Eleventh incarnation, the Doctor is still angry and disappointed when faces with The War Doctor. It's now less than a week until we see exactly what he did and the long game started by Davies in 2005 might come full circle as the overarching arc of nu-Who finally comes to centre stage. If you've seen The Night of the Doctor, you will have seen another epic tease for the special. If you haven't watched it yet, go do it now it's the closest thing you will get to answers before Saturday. and I for one am extremely excited.
