Doctor Who: All 85 Revival Era Stories Ranked

35. The Fires Of Pompeii

What could've been a formulaic history trip turns into an insight into the burden of a Time Lord, and the need for a companion. Features Peter Capaldi and Karen Gillan pre-Moff era.

34. The Lodger

Hilarious, light-hearted fun that fulfils so many fan-fiction dreams. James Corden and Matt Smith make an excellent double-act.

33. The Snowmen

Asks so many questions but resolves so many, 'The Snowman' is so much more enjoyable now we know who Clara is. Fantastic dynamic between Jenna and Matt, and a brilliant introduction to the TARDIS for Clara.

32. Utopia / The Sound Of Drums / Last Of The Time Lords

Both Derek Jacobi and John Simm are outstanding as the Master. The final Christ-like resurrection from Ten might tarnish the episode, but that shouldn't take away from the fantastic performances all round, the disturbing Toclafane and the sheer scale of the story.

31. Turn Left

The Sliding Doors of Doctor Who, Donna's trip into a parallel world is an extraordinary insight into life without the Doctor. It's oddly moving, nightmarish and brilliantly written; Catherine Tate is excellent, too.
