6. Who Is The Woman In The End Of Time?
Let's cast our minds back to David Tennant's 2010 swansong 'The End of Time' for this mystery. Throughout the two-parter, Wilf was visited by a ghostly woman who seemed to know a lot about the Doctor and coming events. At the end of the adventure, the Doctor himself glimpsed her among the returning Time Lords and they seemed to share a meaningful gaze.
So who was this character, only credited as the Woman? Clearly, she's a Time Lady with a special connection to the Doctor - but who? Well, Russell T. Davies has admitted that, while he wanted to keep the Woman's identity secret on screen, he personally believes she is the Doctor's mother.
Steven Moffat didn't appear to share this view, however, as 2014 episode 'Listen' - which visits the Doctor's childhood - heavily hints that he is an orphan. Despite the authorial intention, then, the Woman could be anyone at all.
