Doctor Who: 10 Most Disappointing Concluding Episodes

9. The Ark

This story starts off with the best sneeze in the history of the show, since it gives way to brilliantly handled exploration of elitism and the political hierarchy. This story is split into two sections and the first section ends with one of the greatest twist cliffhangers at the end of episode two. Without going into detail and therefore spoilers, the second section falls apart completely. However, it is still wonderful to watch because of the 60s sci-fi solutions the writers came up with. Since the episode ran over budget, probably because there was an actual elephant in the first episode, they couldn€™t afford a prison set. So they invented the €œsecurity kitchen€. It€™s a bit like fixing your sinking ship with a hailstorm of bullets. This stays at the bottom of the list since, while it€™s awful, it€™s stupid that it has incredible entertainment value as Stephen convinces everyone that they would stand more of a chance if they stole a gun and disarmed their captives. It€™s both disappointing and makes you realise that natural selection should have had its way and wiped out the human race in the context of the story. Crushing.
