Doctor Who: 10 Nu-Who Characters Who Were Just Totally Unlucky

7. The People of Gallifrey

This is, perhaps, a matter of point of view. It is the difference between everlasting life with no chance to live and of course, death. There are many that would take life, such as it is, over anything but being suspended in a Parallel Pocket Universe with no prospect of release and being stuck in the same slice of time for, what could be, all eternity isn€™t everyone€™s cup of tea. Let€™s add to that fact that immediately before the whole €œfrozen in time and space€ issue, a huge portion of the citizenry were killed and huge parts of their infrastructure were destroyed in the Time War. Also the entire planet was dragged light years across the galaxy by Rassilon with the intent to destroy all of time in space. As mentioned, it€™s a matter of point of view. Some would consider being frozen a lucky alternative to what could have been, others would say that death would have been a welcome alternative. Still €“ this is one of those entries that could still have a happier, lucky ending.
