Doctor Who: 10 Potential Ways The Eleventh Doctor Could 'Die'

8. Historical Fixed Point

Les Miserables 21563

I know what you're thinking. "What are we even doing with a Musical Theatre picture in a Doctor Who post?" Read on to find out! We all know that the Doctor loves history. Heck, the show was first made as a way to teach history to children. So it wouldn€™t be surprising if the Doctor were to end up in a historical fixed point, as he€™s done so many times before? However, he€™s always been there right before that point (Pompeii), or somehow cheated it (Teselecta, Water on Mars). What if this time he couldn€™t? Again, this could allow a sense of irony to what the show was meant to be: what it started out as 50 years ago is the death of the Eleventh Doctor. Personally, I would love to see him wounded in an actual battle. Especially around Post-Revolutionary France, if we€™re going back in history (what can I say? I€™m a Les Miserables fan). If he got caught up in the fights at the Barricade and couldn€™t leave, and was forced to fight €“ with a gun, no less €“ this would challenge everything the Doctor stands for (fighting, guns, etc.), and leave him in a position where he couldn€™t leave, he has to stay and be a part of the fixed point. He would get shot, and Clara help him back to the TARDIS before the regeneration. And to add to the idea of a French Revolution idea, many of the roles (that weren€™t played by mega international movie stars) were played by West End actors. It would definitely catch a lot of people€™s attention of the Doctor died at the barricade, filled with people who have also died at a barricade.

I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
