3. The Parting Of The Ways Wasn't His Doctor Who Debut
Well, not technically, anyway. David had been waiting his whole life to step aboard the TARDIS and he had already got closer than most to achieving his childhood dream by the time his moment finally arrived at the end of The Parting of the Ways back in 2005. He had previously appeared in eight of Big Finish's tie-in adventures as an assortment of characters before eventually being cast in the main show's leading role as the Tenth Doctor. Leaving your mark on the Doctor Who mythology's audio adventures is enough for most actors, of course, but for David it served merely as a stepping stone to ensure that he one day landed the coveted part of the titular Time Lord himself. The rest, as the say, is history. It certainly paid off for him in the end as he is now regarded as the character's most popular incarnation to date. Speaking of which...
