4. He's Good Friends With Scottish Artist John Byrne

John Byrne also wrote the 1984 episode of Crown Court in which Peter Capaldi played a rather dim character named Flamin' Eamonn. Flamin' Eamonn had bright red hair and generally makes a fool of himself on the stand. In 2011, he and playwright/artist John Byrne met for a filmed conversation in which the two talked about their careers and the creative culture of Scotland. Both attended the Glasgow School of Art, about 20 years apart, and both show off their fashionable knitwear and overcoats. They've also worked together for various art-based presentations, including a recent conversation at the National Gallery and at the 2014 John Byrne Awards which are open to all Sixth Year students in Scotland and South Africa.
