Doctor Who: 10 Things You Never Knew About Series 7 Of NuWho

5. 11 + 1 = 14... Or 1A

By the end of Series 7, it was no secret that the Eleventh Doctor was actually on his final incarnation, and thus, his final life. The revelation of the War Doctor, an until then unknown version of the Doctor that fought in the Time War, as well as the metacrisis Doctor being caused by an additional regeneration, left many fans wondering just what would happen to their favourite Time Lord beyond Matt. Fear not, though, because the Time Lords, through a convenient crack in the universe, were able to send the Doctor a new set of regenerations. But hold on... Does that mean Peter Capaldi is the Twelfth Doctor, even though he's the 14th incarnation? Perhaps he should be referred to as Doctor 1A? As he is the 12th (numbered) Doctor, that's the answer most commonly given, but at the end of The Time of the Doctor, Matt Smith himself said it was a like a reset, hence why he had his young face again while the regeneration was finishing up. Oh, who even knows anymore?! Got a headache yet? You're not the only one...
