As has become tradition with these Doctor Who watch-along events, a brand-new piece of Who content has been created for fans to chew on.

In this case, Davies himself wrote a ten-minute scene depicting the final moments of Novice Hame (with actress Anna Hope reprising the role), the Catkind nun who we first met in New Earth, before she re-appeared in Gridlock as the Face of Boe's carer.

The scene features Hame on her deathbed, reminiscing about her life, and teasing that she has a secret to reveal. In the end though, she doesn't reveal it, leaving us all in suspense. Damn you Davies!

The best thing about this though is that it features a rather special guest star... David Tennant himself! The actor pops up as the Tenth Doctor for a few lines of dialogue towards the end of the scene, staying with Hame in her final moments.

It's really touching stuff, and it was delightful to re-visit an oft-forgotten character like Hame, even for this short amount of time. And seeing Tennant appear in Doctor Who again - as well as hearing Murray Gold's music - chills. Big thanks to all involved!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
