And that's not even an exaggeration, either. Still, if the aforementioned bombshell that Amy Pond had been a doppelgänger wasn't enough to shock you to your Whovian core, the reveal in the next episode, A Good Man Goes to War, that River Song was actually Amy and Rory's daughter would've surely sent your 'feels' into overdrive. Fans had been waiting since Series 4 to find out who she really was and, even though the 'game changing' twist had been preempted by a lot of us by the time the moment finally arrived, it was still executed so brilliantly that you didn't care if you'd already guessed it. As it turns out, though, this was only just the start of the timey-wimey trauma, but at least fans had the summer to recover before things got really confusing. River wasn't just Amy and Rory's daughter because she was also a psychopath who had been conditioned to kill the Eleventh Doctor, and she also grew up in Leadworth alongside her parents in the guise of their best friend Mels. Just 'cause. A memorable moment indeed and one that will have you reaching for the 'pause' button, tearing your hair out, questioning Steven Moffat's morality and rewatching all of River's episodes for clues.
