3. River Revealed (A Good Man Goes To War)
...No, not like that! Series 6 has already been mentioned on this list and that's probably because it was jam packed with more twists and turns than a dinner date with a Dalek. And that's not even an exaggeration, either. Still, if the aforementioned bombshell that Amy Pond had been a doppelgänger wasn't enough to shock you to your Whovian core, the reveal in the next episode, A Good Man Goes to War, that River Song was actually Amy and Rory's daughter would've surely sent your 'feels' into overdrive. Fans had been waiting since Series 4 to find out who she really was and, even though the 'game changing' twist had been preempted by a lot of us by the time the moment finally arrived, it was still executed so brilliantly that you didn't care if you'd already guessed it. River wasn't just Amy and Rory's daughter because she was also a psychopath who had been conditioned to kill the Eleventh Doctor, and she also grew up in Leadworth alongside her parents in the guise of their best friend Mels. Just 'cause. A memorable moment indeed and one that will have you reaching for the 'pause' button, tearing your hair out, questioning Steven Moffat's morality and rewatching all of River's episodes for clues. And in keeping with Doctor Who tradition, all of those things might not necessarily happen in that order. Speaking of characters who shocked us all by finally revealing who the hell they are...
