Doctor Who: 5 Best Dalek Defeats In NuWho

The plot of Doctor Who's memorable and much loved fiftieth anniversary special, Day Of The Doctor, kicks off with the War Doctor making the heart-breaking decision to destroy his home planet, Gallifrey.

At that point, he believes that doing so is the only way to end the Time War for good and prevent the Daleks from spreading their evil to other innocent planets across the universe. The Moment, a sentient weapon using the appearance of Rose Tyler, attempts to change the War Doctor's mind, but seems to fail until he embarks on an unexpected adventure with his past selves, the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors.

The War Doctor initially decides that Gallifrey must still be destroyed, however this time, The Tenth and Eleventh Doctors arrive to share their past self's burden. After a last minute pep-talk from Clara Oswald, The Doctors ultimately come up with a new plan to both save Gallifrey and stop The Daleks.

Calling upon their past selves, and one future one, Thirteen incarnations of The Doctor use their TARDIS's to trap Gallifrey in a single moment in time. The attacking Daleks are also frozen, preventing them from claiming victory.
