5. Angry

Peter Capaldi is known best for his violently angry portrayal of spin doctor Malcolm Tucker in the television series "The Thick of It" (and spin-off film "In the Loop"). Don't read too much into thisPeter Capaldi is a talented, veteran actor who has played many roles: he's not going to be playing Malcolm Tucker when he portrays the Doctor, but just take a look at that face! Angry is its natural state! It's brilliant. We don't know how the 11th Doctor meets his end, but it's unlikely to be one of the more calm of his deaths. With John Hurt and the Great Intelligence looming and Clara (possibly) beyond saving, I don't think the 11th Doctor will be in a good state of mind at his end; consequently, my 12th Doctor was going to wake up angry. Bitter, even. Oh, he'd keep it bottled up, but he'd have moments of pure, unadulterated fury, when his cool finally dissolves in the face of some particularly irritating villain. In general, he'd be a low-burning furnace, hot coals, a simmering pot. Too much, and he'd explode with brutal, Scottish rage.
