4. Dry

The 11th Doctor made us laugh with his silly walk and fez; the 10th with clever affectations and goofy dialogue; the 9th with his bananas and bizarre dance moves. My 12th Doctor would make us laugh with dry humour, perhaps flavoured with cutting sarcasm and a general satirical edge. He wouldn't smile often, and his jokes would sometimes go quite over the heads of his audience, but he would have that same sort of relevant wit that made Charles Dickens famous. The Doctor has always had a superior intellect, but his humour has rarely stemmed from that aspect of his character. My Doctor was going to change this his jokes would contain semi-colons when written in the scripts, and even his companions would rarely catch on (until, perhaps, five minutes later when it hits them). His deadpan delivery would become a running joke in itselfnobody around him quite certain whether he is, in fact, joking or not.
