4. The First Son
The final set is here, and River Song is back with the Tenth Doctor. Or is she?
Following the cliffhanger at the end of the last set, the Dalek's repetition of one of Doctor Who's most notable quotes was always going to lead us to River Song being involved, but with familiar sparkly dreadlocks.
The story features the return of the Movellans, one of few races in the Doctor Who Universe shown to be able to defeat the Daleks, with them largely being successful by the events of the 80s Resurrection of the Daleks. However, they've never really featured in Doctor Who again beyond their original Destiny of the Daleks debut, and a cameo in Series 10's the Pilot. And this story definitely makes them a substantial threat, as well as the incoming Daleks.
The stories greatest feature is the mystery surrounding River Song, and whether she is the genuine article, a Movellan or a Dalek duplicate. In addition to this, is a Movellan hybrid who thinks River is his mother, and his father is the First Movellan...
A story of adventure and intrigue, setting the stage for our last trip in the Dalek Universe.
