Doctor Who Review: The Husbands Of River Song – 5 Reasons To Love This Christmas Gift

There are wonderful moments of slapstick comedy in The Husbands of River Song. We begin the episode with the Doctor yelling at the TARDIS for putting holographic antlers on his head. The Doctors overwrought and sarcastic reaction upon trailing River into the TARDIS is priceless. Rivers reaction to the histrionics is the perfect counterpoint as she opens a roundel and pours herself a drink from her own private stash. River and the Doctor bounce barbs off each other like Tracey and Hepburn. Its lovely when the Doctor completely loses it as he lies in the snow being threatened by a head in a bag. Its been so long since weve seen this Doctor smile than when he finally does it is pure comic relief. Even River cant help but join in the mirth.
