5. The Doctor Will Meet Poirot

Well, David Suchet. Well known for playing Agatha Christie’s Belgian detective/moustache style icon for 24 years, the actor guest stars in Episode 4, by Doctor Foster writer Mike Bartlett.

Suchet plays a mysterious character called the Landlord, and was seen filming with Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie at Fields House in Newport, a location previously used as the Weeping Angels’ hideout in fan favourite Blink and which now seems to be standing in as Bill and her friends’ student digs. Imagine having Poirot as your university landlord – you wouldn’t get away with lying about who spilled booze on the carpet, that’s for sure.

The Landlord is a new adversary for the Doctor and Bill, though he’s not the only trouble they face in this episode, which also features a creepy-looking girl made of wood and a story that will apparently make us afraid of creaking floorboards. Looks like it’ll be one to have the back of your sofa ready for.
