Doctor Who Theory: Jo Martin's Doctor Was Protector Of The Timeless Child

1. The Doctor Will Oppose The Time Lords Completely

Off the back of this theory, it would make a lot of sense that Jo Martin will (unfortunately) leave us at the end of this series and regenerate into the 3rd Doctor (still hoping for that Sean Pertwee cameo). However, the events that will play out could open a whole can of worms for Jodie Whittaker to develop her Doctor.

She will have discovered that the Time Lords have betrayed her yet again, this time by literally exploiting and manipulating who she is as a person.

The Doctor is a figure that has been shunned and hurt by her race again and again, but this would be the ultimate betrayal now because of where the Doctor is in her lifespan. She felt guilt for hundreds of years over her decision to end the Time War. When she was able to save the Time Lords, they did grant her a new regeneration cycle, but they were also responsible for the death of Clara, one of her closest companions, and locked the Doctor in a confession dial.

Despite the Master's apparent act of genocide, it is inevitable there are Time Lords still out there, and when they do return, she will hate them for doing this to her.

Going forward, we may see a Doctor who is much more opposed to her race, and will be less willing to save them in future. It may be she even starts to question some of the decisions the Master has made, and suggests we may even see another reconciliation between them.

What is certain though, is that if this theory is correct, we could see Jodie Whitaker's incarnation develop into a much darker figure moving forward, which could have well been Chibnall’s plan all along.
