Doctor Who: Who's The Best Companion? (Classic Edition)

The Final Eight

So how do I pick from the best of the best? To help choose, imagine you€™re the Eleventh Doctor and you can choose to bring one companion back for more adventures. Who would it be? Let€™s run down your decisions€ Ian and Barbara: Lovely couple but all they really want to do is stay home with a nice cup of tea and a Jamie Dodger. The Eleventh Doctor thinks this sounds lovely of course but all they would do his contradict my decisions and call me a very young, immature little boy. Might be more trouble than they€™re worth. Plus, they were so happy to get back to their own time (have you seen the wonderful montage from the end of The Chase? It€™s the best bit of the whole six parter!) I don€™t think they€™d have any interesting in travelling with the Doctor for more adventures. Jamie: A big heart. And Scottish too. The Eleventh Doctor likes that. A real contender. As long a way can be found to get his memories back. And explain why the Doctor is different. Jamie isn€™t the brightest spark in the universe. Liz Shaw: A little too bossy for his liking, though she has a very sharp mind. She could be a real asset. Though she did head off to Cambridge, after that €˜Inferno€™ incident, so how committed could she be? Sarah Jane Smith: The wonderful Sarah Jane Smith. Brave and intelligent, she has stood head and shoulders over many of the companions that came before her, and after€ Nyssa: Fades into the background€Nyssa who? Oh that one. Peri: Stands there with a pouting lip and whines. The Eleventh Doctor wonders why he ever gave up Fifth his life to save her€ Ace: Would be one hell of a ride, Nitro 9 and all. Though behind her tough exterior is still a little girl. Maybe she needs to mature a little first? Grace: Well she €˜accidently killed the Doctor. That€™s a little difficult to forgive. And she kissed the Doctor. Not sure how River Song would feel about that€ And the winner...ppp[[ With a toss up between Jamie and Sarah Jane, the lovely lady comes out on top. Like Jamie, she has a big heart, is bold, courageous and not afraid to follow the Doctor into the depths of danger. But she would also stand up for herself and has the wit and intelligence to battle the enemies of the Doctor on her own. And probably a much better conversationalist too. Sarah Jane Smith!
