Every Umbrella Academy Episode Ranked Worst To Best

11. The Day That Wasn't (S1E6)

Umbrella Academy Luther and Allison
Netflix

The sixth episode of the Umbrella Academy was a strange one, in that just about everything that happened was wiped out at the end by Number 5's time travelling. Luther, Allison, and Vanya all took huge strides as characters, which were ultimately undone. It was hard to know how to feel with this, as 5's arc for the episode was compelling, but it was easy to feel slightly robbed of a couple of big chunks of an episode.

Throughout the hour, as is the case with many, Klaus was once again the MVP, suffering from PTSD and torturing himself to get sober. These were emotional scenes to watch, and at this point of the season, Number 4 truly started to stand out as one of the best aspects of the show.

The ending of this episode is special, as it brought the family onto the same page for the very first time, allowing the series to finally start heading towards its apocalyptic ending. Similarly to 'Valhalla' in season two, it had been fun watching the team operate as separate entities, but the time had come to bring them back together.
