Falcon & The Winter Soldier: 9 Fan Theories That Could Come True

1. Steve Rogers Dies, His Shield Goes To John Walker

This is going to be tough, but it's something that MCU fans will need to prepare themselves for at some point. It was hard enough for Sam Wilson knowing that he would have to live in a world without Captain America, but what about a world without Steve Rogers?

In the promotional material for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam can be seen looking forlorn at Cap's shield in what can only be described as a funeral suit, and it's impossible not to think that the funeral in question is that of his best friend.

Steve's legacy will play a huge role in the series, which would be made all the more poignant and poetic if it came in the wake of his death. This would also explain how Steve's shield comes to be in the hands of John Walker rather than Sam Wilson.

Surely, if Steve were still alive, he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen?

As sad as it will be to know that Steve is dead, this is possibly something that needs to happen to allow Sam to truly step up and lead the new generation of Avengers as Captain America.
