Family Guy: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)
16. Season 13
Having The Simpsons and Family Guy perform a crossover sounded like a dream too good to ever become reality. So, when it was announced the Griffins would meet the Simpson family in Season 13, the hype was through the roof. Even though the confrontation had its moments, it was more inventive than hilarious. (The idea Lisa gets jealous that Meg can play the saxophone better than her is a terrific set-up but not outright funny).
Those who were disappointed by this The Simpsons Guy instalment were sad to learn it was the season's strongest episode. The rest of the season is so bereft of genuine gags, it's like the writers injected all their best material into the crossover.
Even though Family Guy has had some bonkers storylines, the plots for this season are way too random. When you watch an episode of Peter trying to help Jesus lose his virginity or Stewie getting pregnant through Brian, you wonder what the writers were trying to accomplish.
Scenarios like this may have worked in Family Guy's heyday but now comes across as a hodgepodge of missed opportunities.
