Game Of Thrones: 9 Things We Learned From The SXSW 2017 Panel
2. Ice Dragon, Season 7's Best Line, And Sansa's 'Death'
Asked if a dragon White Walker is something that could happen, Benioff simply and coyly replied: "Maybe."
While he could just be deliberately misleading people or playing along for fun, there is something in the idea. Ice dragons are a part of Westerosi lore, even if just as a legend, and the appearance of one has long been theorised, and even rumoured for the endgame (since the Walkers will presumably be battling Dany's dragons).
Legend has it that the creatures roam the Shivering Sea and White Waste (areas North of Essos), and are far bigger than their Valyrian brethren. If White Walkers can raise the dead, and that includes horses, then could that also extend to dragons? Here's hoping!
Also on the topic of giving away potential spoilers, Sophie Turner's hair colour was called into question (currently blonde rather than red). While it's not uncommon, Maisie Williams did say that it was because she was dead, followed by a lot of awkwardness...
Finally, and this one comes as absolutely no surprise, given Tyrion generally gets at least one line every season destined to adorn memes, gifs, and even merchandise (last year it was "That's what I do. I drink and I know things.").
Once again, it seems, he's going to be stealing the show when it comes to dialogue, with Weiss saying it's "something witty", adding: "You can write a crap line, and Peter [Dinklage] will make it great.”
