Although overlooked given what happened with Hodor, this week dropped another major origin story: that of the White Walkers.

While history before now had simply suggested they arrived from the far North, and the Children of the Forest and First Men joined forces to defeat them, here it turns out that it was actually the Children who created them in order to fight the Men.

We actually see this creation happen, as they stab a man with dragonglass (which may be why it can destroy them), but it's not just any man - it's the Night's King. The actor in the scene is Vladimir Furdik, the same man under layers of prosthetics as the Night's King this season.

You may also notice that the King looks different this year, and Furdik is the reason, with Richard Blake playing the character previously.
