Game Of Thrones: The Worst Episode From Every Season
6. Season Three - The Bear And The Maiden Fair
Now, this is a sad one to put here, as the spectacular climax that saw Brienne of Tarth taking on a bear was tremendous and a real highlight for the series - even if the VFX were wobbly in some shots. Sadly, that's about all the major excitement you'll get in this episode, as the rest of it feels like a meandering walk towards the season finale and gets repetitive in places.
Season Three's "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" shows as Jon and the wildlings keep travelling south, Theon continues to be tortured, Talisa tells Robb she's pregnant, Arya runs away from The Brotherhood Without Banners, and Jamie leaves Brienne to a horrible fate, before coming to her rescue.
This episode is an early example of the show's scale beginning to get to feel overblown. The vast array of narratives all over the place make it feel disjointed, especially as it all feels like a filler episode designed to set everyone in place for the final three episodes of the season.
You get more of the same with a lot of the narratives. Fans had already seen enough of Arya getting angry and running away, Theon being tortured, and Jon slowly moving south.
