Glee: 50 Most Memorable Performances So Far

28. Ain€™t No Way

Mercedes_durante_Ain.t_No_Way (Night of Neglect, Season Two) I realise that this is the first Mercedes€™ solo performance I€™ve added to the list in a while (out of the few she€™s actually been given) but, for the reason I omitted Season One spine-tinglers, Hate on Me and And I Am Telling You, I've waited until Ain€™t No Way because, I believe, it mirrors her Beautiful performance in that it is an honest performance. This is really the first time Mercedes really gets to shine, simply as the star she is. This is opposed to a €˜fighting Rachel for another solo€™ number or one led by a random storyline, Bust Your Windows, such as her liking Kurt or performing for Rocky Horror, Sweet Transvestite. She really is a young Aretha Franklin here.

27. Somewhere Only We Know

glee218_0659 (1) (Born This Way, Season Two) After their awkward sexual tension in Sexy, Kurt and Blaine seem to have settled into a stable relationship relatively quickly by this point. As Kurt returns to McKinley, Blaine and the Warblers serenade him in the courtyard as a farewell. However, despite it being a goodbye to Dalton, it's made fairly obvious that he have, indeed, not seen the last of Blaine. A good song with an endearing message which forecasts a long-term relationship for a now iconic gay, teen couple

26. I Feel Pretty / Unpretty

FaberryLove (1) (Born This Way, Season Two) This duet took place during, probably, Faberry's most heated period of rivalry. Finn is back with Quinn after dumping Rachel, but she is steadily regaining her grip on him. When Finn accidently broke Rachel's nose, she considered a nose job. She asked her doctor to model it after Quinn's nose and it's clear that the frosty former-cheerleader was basking in the admiration. This West Side Story / TLC is an usual pairing but works pretty well and is a testament to the writers€™ imagination, and wide musical knowledge. Lea€™s stronger voice strengthens Dianna€™s, whilst Dianna€™s more natural key neutralises Lea's, sometimes, over-produced style. The mash-up underpins Rachel€™s jealous of Quinn€™s beauty and Quinn€™s jealousy of Rachel€™s continuing hold over Finn.

25. Songbird

Songbird219 (1) (Rumours, Season Two) After her Landslide declaration, Santana does not take rejection over a mere boy lightly and brings her A game with this sweet sequel. With another Fleetwood Mac love song, Santana pours out her heart and soul to Brittany. Unfortunately, she is unable to go through with Brittany suggestion that she 'come out' publicly, by asking her to Prom, and retreats further back into the closet. The songs works perfectly for Naya€™s voice and adds even more character development to the complex Santana.

24. Don€™t Stop

glee (1) (Rumours, Season Two) During Fleetwood Mac week in glee club, rumours surface that both Kurt and Quinn are cheating on their boyfriends € with Sam! It soon transpires that they are each helping Sam out by lending him old clothes and babysitting his little siblings as his family is now homeless, and living in a motel, since his father lost his job. Don€™t Stop is the group performance at the end of the episode and is, effectively, a show of solidarity to the lonely Sam. The storyline of his family being victims of the recession added a dash of reality needed to the episode, which centres around ridiculous rumours about certain glee club members. There is also some old Quam magic there, but by this point, unfortunately, Quinn is back with Finn.
