Hannibal: 10 Greatest 'Holy Sh*t!' Moments So Far

1. Dr. Lecter Confronts Abigail

Episode: Relevés One of the most attractive things about Hannibal Lecter behind bars (as in his appearance in Silence of the Lambs) is his complete and utter honesty. He can charm us because he knows what a monster he is, and is completely up front about it to the people he "likes". This version of Lecter does not make a big appearance in the show, because he is still at large, and cannot just tell everyone that he eats census takers for breakfast (with fava beans and a nice Chianti). But this version of Dr. Lecter makes a very key appearance in the show €“ at the end of the penultimate episode. Him and Abigail Hobbs are left in a room, and he speaks to her as honestly as he can, telling her why he's been manipulating her and Will Graham this whole time €“ he was simply curious. This curiosity is a chillingly simple, yet refreshingly frank, justification, and his sudden honesty makes the audience realise Abigail's fate has been sealed. Dr. Lecter is interested in people, even likes some people, but will always kill a person he likes before risking his own exposure.
