The Final Page: Part 2 marks the midway point of Season 8 and changes the rest of the series. The episode follows Robin, who is in love with Barney, as she learns that he plans to propose to Patrice, her arch enemy, on top of the World Wide News Building, Robin's favourite place in New York City. Ted takes her to the building, causing him to arrive late to his own party, so she can try to win Barney back one final time.

On top of the building, Robin discovers that Barney had orchestrated the events of the past half season in order to propose to Robin. He shows her the final page of the playbook, titled "The Robin." This would be the last play he ever runs, and luckily, it works.

"The Robin" is one of the greatest plot twists in all of How I Met Your Mother. It puts most of Season 8's early episodes into a new perspective. Plus, seeing Barney and Robin together at last feels incredible. This is why The Final Page: Part 2 stands over the likes of P.S. I Love You, The Ashtray, Weekend at Barney's, The Time Travelers, and The Bro Mitzvah as Season 8's best outing.
