Only Fools And Horses: Ranking All The Main Characters From Worst To Best

In the Series 7 episode, ‘The Class of ’62’, it was revealed that Denzil and Del Boy were friends at school. Denzil is the only character with confirmed Afro-Caribbean roots and his laid back demeanour adds to the high-stress levels of the rest of the cast.

Often seen riding around Peckham on roller skates, Denzil usually served as a hapless victim of Del Boy’s money-making schemes. First appearing in ‘Who’s a Pretty Boy,’ Denzil agrees to have the Trotters decorate his house. Naturally, the Trotters ignored simple instructions, and this drove a wedge between Denzil and his highly strung wife, Corrine.

Despite regularly getting being taken advantage of by his friend, Denzil always forgives the wheeler-dealer. He becomes increasingly sceptical throughout the series but is always there when needed.

Denzil scores relatively low on this list as he is never involved in a main story, and predominantly is used as a plot device for Del to get some quick cash. Paul Barber, the Scouse actor behind the Denzil character, revealed his ability to play a more considerate cast member during Rodney’s stag do, but this gentle side wasn’t revealed again. It would have been nice for Denzil to have had more of the spotlight.
