Parks & Recreation: Every Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Ron Swanson

Parks Recreation April Ludgate
NBC

Ron Swanson was a man of few words and even fewer friends. As he put it himself, one to three would suffice. He was a straight forward man who enjoyed meat and whiskey, and while he could have easily become one dimensional in this regard, there was actually a lot more to him.

Glimpses of deeper into Ron's character showed just how much he cared about his team as he became a father figure to just about all of them, in particular Andy, April, Tom, and of course Leslie. Just when you thought you had him figured out, his double life as Duke Silver was revealed, or his love and affection for Diane and her girls was shown.

The walking paradox that was a government employee who actively hated the government did show his softer side quite often, even going so far as to swallow his pride and ask Leslie for a job when he was the only one of the original Parks team left.

Though he became a far less likable person when either Tammy 1 or Tammy 2 were around, and for the most part he was easily the grumpiest man in all of Pawnee, he somehow managed to be an ironic injection of pure joy for audiences.
