Riverdale: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

7. FP Jones

Skeet Ulrich As FP Jones In Riverdale Season 1 960x540
The CW

Who doesn't love FP Jones? The grouchy, moody and yet completely compassionate father of Jughead Jones may have made his debut on the show as part of the Riverdale gang known as the Southside Serpent, but he was far from a snake. Well, not that kind anyway.

Initially playing more of an unnerving role as he lived up to the stereotype, FP's relationship with his son became the driving force of his narrative and, as a result, he instantly became a more well-rounded character - because as he got himself involved in crime after crime as part of the Serpents, he also got himself more and more involved in Jughead's life, highlighting his potential as a character.

In three seasons, he has fallen off wagons and risen like a phoenix more times than he would care to count, but he also left his criminal life behind to become Riverdale sheriff in the town's hour of need - finally being the one to bring down Hiram Lodge. Not bad considering he used to do his dirty work now, is it?

FP is, without a doubt, a lovable rogue. Perpetually rough around the edges but with a big heart in his chest, it's impossible not to fall head over heels with this man - and his relationship with Jughead is, without a doubt, one of the most engaging parent/child dynamics on the show. Moreover, Skeet Ulrich brings everything about FP to life with complete ease - personifying both the authentic gangster FP and the good-hearted sheriff in search of redemption.
