Riverdale Season 3: 7 Major Questions That Must Be Answered Before The Finale

1. Has The Supernatural Really Come To Riverdale?

When Season 3 of Riverdale began, it was quite clear that something was different. No longer was the show focusing on realistic (albeit sensationalised) events like mysterious deaths or killing-sprees. No, now the town was suddenly subjected to satanic rituals and addictive board games - all in the name of worshipping some supernatural entity known as the Gargoyle King.

Since then, the writers have danced around whether or not this supposed creature actually is of supernatural origin. Sister Woodhouse's reveal that the Sisters Of Quiet Mercy utilised Fizzle Rocks to make their patients hallucinate the Gargoyle King certainly suggests that the town's increasing drug activity is actually responsible for the sightings of 'The King' as well as the seizures that soon followed. Moreover, the writers even went to the effort to unmask the Gargoyle King (twice), revealing him to be both Tallboy and Marcus Mason respectively.

However, that doesn't explain how Polly and Alice seemingly made the former's twin babies float in mid-air in the season premiere, The Farm's involvement in all of this and, perhaps most importantly, how the Gargoyle King showed up in the Cooper household in all its flaming glory.

Though The Farm seems to be the season's main threat, we need clarity as to who (or what) the real Gargoyle King actually is. After two red herrings, it's time for answers. But will those answers suggest that, after two seasons, there are supernatural entities living in Riverdale after all?
