Riverdale Season 4 Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From 'Chapter Fifty-Nine: Fast Times At Riverdale High'
5. Kevin's Shot At Redemption
Kevin Keller did the impossible last season when he ripped the 'most infuriating Riverdale character' title away the likes of Alice Cooper and Archie Andrews, but not even that could personify how downright blood-boiling he was.
As part of The Farm, he became a one-dimensional villain that did little other than pledge his undying loyalty to Edgar Evernever with no basis for doing so, all the while disregarding the most obvious signs that he was obsessed with an organ-harvester! Yes, that's how infuriatingly ridiculous his behaviour was.
Thankfully, this season hasn't allowed him to forget about that, as he genuinely seems like he wants to continue to move away from who he was and, in the process, achieve some kind of redemption for his actions - apparently even going so far as to help Betty figure out where Alice is. What makes it even more interesting is that he has openly admitted that he's struggling with letting go of The Farm, mainly because he's lonely and wants to be reunited with his boyfriend Fangs.
That may make him hard to trust, but you know what it doesn't make him? One-dimensional.
This is the kind of internal conflict we should have been seeing from Kevin before he joined The Farm, so we're more than willing to take it now. Hopefully it will give Casey Cott a long overdue chance to shine.
