Sherlock: 10 Best Minor Characters

7. Henry Knight

Sherlock Irene Adler
BBC

"The Hounds of Baskerville" was an excellent delve into Sherlock's version of a horror story. It took the absurd concept of a man being haunted by a giant dog and turned it into a compelling story about genetic modification, paranoia and conspiracy, and it was all spearheaded by Henry Knight.

This episode followed Sherlock and Watson as they were employed by Henry to help him prove that the titular creature had murdered his father. However, as the episode went along, it became clear that Henry's sanity was in question and that there may be something far more sinister than a giant canine in the land of Dartmoor.

The human mind is capable of a great many things, but it often manifests itself in strange ways to cover traumatic memories. Henry's incredibly fragile mental state and constant paranoia was a great example of this, as the poor man was so damaged, and you genuinely wanted to see him get help.

Of all the clients that Sherlock ever had, this was undoubtedly one you wanted to see get his money's worth if only to bring him some much-needed peace.
