The Simpsons: 10 Times Homer Really Should Have Died

10. Head Crushed In Drawbridge

Of all of his body parts, it's Homer's head that has probably taken the most punishment throughout the show's history. Of course, suffering from Homer Simpson Syndrome (which we'll examine more closely later), this hasn't posed much of a problem for him. In "Lost Our Lisa," Homer incurs further damage (which should really be fatal damage) to his dome when he loses Lisa after his parenting skills sink to a spectacular new low. After insisting his young daughter rides the bus alone, he dashes across town to rescue her, eventually finding her thanks to a borrowed cherry picker. Naturally, Homer loses control of the cherry picker and rolls downhill, smashing his head on a traffic light and scraping it on a bridge, before plunging into a river. Lisa has a drawbridge closed for Homer to grab onto, but in typical Homer style it closes right on his head. To compound the injury sustained from what must be an incredible amount of force crushing his head, several cars drive over his scalp as he is dangling below. Despite all of this, he requires no hospital treatment and is healthy enough to encourage Lisa to take even more risks in order to break into the Springsonian Museum. Most other men would have needed a lie down first.
