7. Loyalty Is An Enduring Commodity - "All Good Things ..."
Even in the future, Worf's demonstration of loyalty is not diminished. In the future, Worf is a governor and member of the Klingon High Command but his loyalty to his former shipmates is not diminished. As the medical ship, Captained by Dr. Beverly Crusher, takes an ailing Captain Picard into Klingon space to uncover the mystery of a temporal anomaly. Instead of immediately seizing the ship and following Klingon law, Worf allows them to pass and even joins them on their quest. There is tension between a now Admiral Ryker and Worf over an unfulfilled romantic attraction to a deceased Deanna Troi. Still, despite this awkwardness, Worf still manages to cooperate with Ryker and his former crew and submerges his pride for the sake of the mission and friendship. It's even clear that despite the antagonism between the two, Worf still has friendship for Ryker and even accedes to his personal request for help. It takes a pretty big man to overlook these things and still maintain that sense of loyalty. Loyalty isn't cheap commodity and Worf clearly has a high price and a fairly long endurance when it comes to his relationships with his friends.
