Star Trek: 12 Characters That Deserve Their Own Series

6. Captain Braxton Of The USS Relativity

Star Trek Braxton

Of all the interesting random ships encountered throughout the Trek Universe, it'd be hard to argue that, the USS Relativity isn't one of the coolest from the future federation. This "Timeship", a Wells-Class science vessel is from the 29th Century and is tasked with correcting temporal anomalies through history (and possibly further into the future).

We first get to meet Captain Braxton in a temporal storyline where he's using a smaller time-ship called Aeon that almost completely disintegrates Voyager. in another episode, he is revealed to be the captain of the Relativity, and part of a larger plot that ends up catching himself committing temporal crimes.

While time travel scenarios have became common-place, they're usually reactionary to what's being perceived by those getting trapped in said scenarios. This series would be a more specific type of show focusing on Braxton and his ship seeking out temporal issues and attempting to repair them proactively. As an example, in one of the VOY episodes, Braxton explains that he has cleaned up three specific incursions by Voyager. A series like this could easily revisit old material and bring them back to life from a different perspective. The ability to literally revisit every possible time period in the Star Trek universe is a very tempting option.

Because of the necessity a series like this would need to interpret and display old material; creating it in 3D animation would be the smartest way to go. This way it could easily take on numerous existing timeline issues that Braxton and his crew will correct across the entire Star Trek franchise. Possibly even exploring the events leading upto the Hobus Star and changing the timeline. We could also get a more prominent understanding of the original temporal cold war as icing on the proverbial Trek cake.

I'm an award winning producer of independent media, and I get to edit books, screenplays, and comics in my day to day. I love working on independent film & games, during my down time, as well as reviewing films while gobbling down milk duds (it's an addiction, I know). I've been called "Geek-Prime" among my peers for all the fandoms I work in, and I wear that title proudly. It's a passion, and an exercise in my growing profession, to get to write about what I love. Which happens to be a little of everything. But mostly film, comics, horror, games, anime, literature, and life. I do write about academic material, like politics, medicine, physics, and mathematics too. But for the most part, I like to keep things down to earth and simple. Follow me on Twitter & Facebook
