Star Trek: Discovery 3.2 Review - Ups And Downs From Far From Home

1. Happy Ending (Up)

Star Trek Discovery Michael
CBS

The Discovery crew work hard to start digging the ship out of parasitic ice, a growth that is covering the entire exterior hull. As the sun goes down, it grows faster and faster, threatening to destroy the structural integrity of the vessel and crush everyone inside.

Standard November morning in your car, really.

They are saved at the last moment when a tractor beam comes down around them, rocking the ship and lifting it up out of trouble. Of course, on board the ship which is the origin of the beam, is Michael Burnham.

There is a genuinely heartfelt reunion scene, via viewscreen, between the crew and her - leaving the episode on a very upbeat note. This, if nothing else in this episode, was a true scene of a family coming together.

A very solid second episode to the season and another example of season three hopefully relaunching the show in a positive direction.
