Star Trek Picard: 8 Things Everyone Missed In The Final Trailer

Last of the slightly obvious ones, this. Promise.

Another assumption that had been quickly jumped to was that the brief shot we got of a Borg Drone was the returning Hugh. Reports dating back to the show's initial casting revealed that actor ‎Jonathan Del Arco was to reprise his role as Star Trek's first want-away member of the collective, and he's featured at the heart of virtually all speculation regarding the show's core premise.

However, we've already seen how he'll look in the show. A blink-and-you'll miss it shot from an earlier trailer showed Hugh leading both Picard and Dahj through some sort of corridor in what was assumed to be an escape attempt from the Romulan prison station. Clearly, this is not the same man... his augments are on the wrong side of the face for a start.

Hugh Picard

Given Picard is literally talking about being haunted by his past while this clip plays, in all probability this is just a slightly hokey rendering of Locutus of Borg. De-aging Patrick Stewart's face to make him appear closer to the age he was during seminal Next Generation episode The Best of Both World. The effects work isn't quite on the same level as The Irishman, but it'll do for the purposes of a harrowing flashback.
