The mysterious synth who kicked this whole show off, Dahj was, in truth, no more than narrative misdirection and her relationship with her sister was inevitably barely explored because of the nature of their backstory. They might have been twins, but picking at how close they were to sell the tragedy of Dahj's death would have been hollow since they were only created a matter of months before Dahj is destroyed.

The show's decision to set up Dahj as the main character (alongside Picard obviously) was a genius one as her death at the end of the first episode changed everything up. It might have been nice if we'd had more time to stew on it before the revelation of Soji's existence, but it didn't QUITE destroy the impact.

Getting to see her activate like a sleeper agent before her death was Picard's first badass moment and her death was a genuine WTF moment. Remember those?
