Who is the big bad of season three?
Since May 2022 and a conversation with fans via Twitter, Terry Matalas teased that fans would not be ready for the new villain in season three. Now he could have been referring in some way to the two returning baddies from TNG but it's more likely he was referring to the incoming Vadic. Matalas teased that as he had wanted to work with this person for some time and that it would be a new character.
Vadic is played by Amanda Plummer, daughter of respected actor Christopher Plummer of Sound of Music fame. Yes, he's also the one that played General Chang in The Undiscovered Country. Movie fans will most likely know her as Honey Bunny in the opening scene of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.
Vadic's motives have remained a closely guarded secret to save the wonder and excitement for the ten-episode run. Viewers have also seen that Vadic's ship is unlike that of any major Trek race, although those spines do have echoes of Nero's Nerada.
Vadic's bridge crew are all hooded with only hints of cranial ridges on show, which gives nothing away about their identities.
