Stargate: Every System Lord Ranked Worst To Best

6. Setesh

The great religions of the past seem tailor made to be classed as cults in modern terminology and the Goa'uld Setesh both reveled in this, before it led to his downfall. After organizing the defeat of his brother Osiris and his queen Isis, Setesh found himself trapped on Earth after the uprising that resulted in the Stargate being buried.

Through the years, he formed various cults to keep himself living with worshipers around him - using a combination of flattery and Nish'ta (a drug to brainwash people). After the fall of Ra, the Tok'ra took inventory of the System Lords who still posed a threat, but their information on Setesh ran out after the burial of the Stargate, leading them to believe, correctly, that he was still on Earth.

When the Tok'ra reach out to the SGC about him, Teal'c tells them that the Setesh symbol, vaguely resembling a dog, is a cause for much laughter among the Jaffa. SG-1 doesn't believe him, so he proceeds to tell a joke, which can be viewed above in all its glory.

Setesh is defeated when SG-1, in coalition with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, raid Setesh's cult headquarters. He tries to escape through underground tunnels, but is detected by Selmak. He is finally killed when Samantha Carter, still possessing Naquadah in her bloodstream thanks to Jolinar, uses the Kara kesh hand device to crush him, ending his reign once and for all.
