Stargate: Every System Lord Ranked Worst To Best

1. Ba'al

Ba'al would end up as the System Lord with whom SG-1 had the most contact, and the most conflict. Like many of the other Goa'uld, he was a maniacal dictator, completely uninterested in the cost of human life, in the pursuit of power. He had, in the Second Goa'uld Dynasty, been an underling to Ra, operating a base on Earth. However, he betrayed Ra and allied with Sokar - earning the title of Ba'alzebub, the apostle of the Satanic Sokar.

For over a thousand years, he and Sokar variously allied and fought with each other. Ba'al's disregard for life is what ironically kept him alive - he once lured Sokar's fleet to one of his annexed systems, then destroyed the sun - killing Sokar's men and all sixty million inhabitants of the system.

Ba'al voted for Anubis to be allowed to rejoin the System Lords, though he was quick to assume control of Anubis's forces after the latter's defeat. Anubis returned, forcing Ba'al into subjugation, yet Ba'al came out on top. That is - until the Replicators arrived.

Ba'al found himself as the last surviving System Lord and so cloned himself several times over to ensure immortality. One of these clones managed to implant their Symbiont in the body of Adria, the Orisi, in an attempt to gain the power of the Ori. However, this Symbiont also died - along with almost all of Ba'al's clones, in the subsequent years.

Ba'al's final clone was captured by the Tok'ra, but before he could be saved, he used time travel to put a final plan for domination into effect. The 'real' Ba'al was finally killed by Col. Cameron Mitchell, while the last clone was finally freed from the Ba'al Symbiont by the Tok'ra. The host was saved, thus ending the final story of the Goa'uld System Lords.
